Approach lights won’t change as touchdown...

Approach lights won’t change as touchdown position for 20 remains unchanged due glide slope requirements over railway works. Remember this is only a ‘starter strip’ extension.

Runway Extension

Work has started to re-route a Southern Water sewage pipe to allow the start of concrete laying for the extension in April 2023. Finish date will be a few months later.

I thought the plan was to have the runway...

I thought the plan was to have the runway extension completed by end of April 2023, also there will be one less stand on southern side of the terminal in order to be able to handle three A320 size...

Plan is for it to be completed by end of April 2023. Remains to be seen if they can achieve that.

lots of reasons ... first year, very little marketing, Covid, and 3 hour flight on an E190 from a 5500ft runway restricts payload..

if we ever get an A320 operator wanting to start an operation they are currently restricted to 3 at a time between stands 1 - 5 , as an A320 requires 1 1/2 stands, which is why they are planning to...
