Yes that's right, we are getting screwed by the exchange rate and these trends can take a decade or longer to revert back. Sadly I don't think it will revert to 5.85 until the next major recession...

Another hidden cost is in the price of Electricity and Water...........mine cost AED 6,000 pa more than they would back home.......the houses have absolutely zero insulation and the glazing is low...
