Mate found that out in a 205 that ended with a ditching (fixed floats) because of vibration. Blade grip had cracked circumferentialy the full 360° so the only retention was the tension/torsion strap....

Do you have a link for the cloud definition? The 800 metres is for uncontrolled airspace and you have to be clear of cloud. Controlled airspace is 5,000metres, but special VFR may be available.

crab, do our turbine VFR machines, eg B206, only have anti icing because tests have shown they need it to comply? Are you aware of any VFR turbine without anti icing? Just curious.

You've spent too much time in the big stuff crab ;), even the VFR B206 manual says anti ice shall be on for flight in visible moisture in temps below 4.4°C.
